SØKTAS began in Oslo, Norway in 2015 — the unlikely starting point for what would become one of Australia's most recognised independent lighting brands.
That's where Oliver Höglund and Ryan Roberts first met. Oliver brought with him a designer's instinct shaped by a lifetime around glass. His grandfather Erik Höglund and father Ola Höglund were both celebrated glass artists, and Oliver has been developing his own craft since 2001. That lineage runs through every SØKTAS design — in the organic forms, the way light moves through each piece, and an aesthetic that feels both timeless and entirely his own.
Ryan brought the vision to build something real. A business that could take Oliver's design sensibility and bring it to homes, hotels, and architectural projects across the country and beyond.
Together they moved to Australia and built SØKTAS from the ground up. Ten years on, our lights have been found in some of the most considered spaces across the country.
